When attractive women wear make-up, other women think they are more aggressive

According to new research published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, a woman's assessed attractiveness influences whether she appears more aggressive or a better future leader as a result of her makeup. The data suggest that attractive women's usage of make-up is primarily designed to communicate intersexual competition.
